Every week we analyze a politician: promises, misdeeds, personal benefits and costs for citizens.

Tajani Antonio

Antonio Tajani

💼 Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation 🏛️ Forza Italia 🇮🇹 Italia

Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation

Antonio Tajani was born in Rome on 4 August 1953. Professional journalist since 1980, he has worked for more than 20 years in the information industry, collaborating with the Newspaper of Montanelli and the Rai. He was co-founder of Forza Italia in 1994, regional coordinator of the party in Lazio from 1994 to 2005, and close collaborator of Silvio Berlusconi. Elected to the European Parliament in 1994, 1999, 2004, 2014 and 2019, he served as Vice President of the European People's Party. In 2008 he was appointed European Commissioner for Transport, a post he held until 2010. From 2010 to 2014 he was European Commissioner for Industry and Entrepreneurship and Vice-President of the European Commission. On 17 January 2017, he was elected President of the European Parliament, held office until 2019. From July 2018 to July 2023 he was Vice President of Forza Italia. Since 22 October 2022 he has been Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in the Meloni Government.

🔍 Why the system makes them all like this

Before analyzing this politician, we must understand the system they operate in. It is no accident that they all betray their promises. The system expects it.

📜 The legal articles that allow it

Article 67 of the Constitution
"Every member of Parliament represents the Nation and exercises their functions without a binding mandate."

This rule establishes that once elected, a member of parliament is not legally bound to keep their electoral promises. They can change party, position, or opinion without any legal consequence. Their "conscience" is the only constraint.

Article 68 of the Constitution
"Members of Parliament cannot be held accountable for opinions expressed and votes cast in the exercise of their functions."

This rule guarantees immunity for statements and votes expressed in Parliament. Even if statements are misleading or contrary to public interest, the politician cannot be prosecuted.

📚 The theories that explain the system

Gaetano Mosca (1896) — In every society, regardless of the form of government, there is always an organized minority that governs an unorganized majority. Democracy does not eliminate this structure, it merely hides it.
Vilfredo Pareto (1901) — Elites circulate, but the power structure does not change. The people do not govern: only the group of elites occupying the government position changes.
Robert Michels (1911) — Even parties born to represent the masses inevitably end up being controlled by a small circle of leaders. Internal party democracy is an illusion.
"Who says organization, says tendency to oligarchy."

📊 The data that confirms the theories

These are not academic speculations. The data shows the system works exactly as described:

  • Over 90% of the funding of Giorgia Meloni's party comes from contributions paid by MPs themselves, not from the general public. Source: Camera dei Deputati - Bilanci partiti
  • The French government has spent over 2.5 billion euros on external consultants since 2017, a 329% increase in six years. McKinsey supported Macron's campaign in 2017 and then obtained government contracts. Source: Senato Francese - Rapporto McKinsey
  • German Chancellor Scholz has been summoned multiple times as a witness by the parliamentary inquiry committee for the Cum-Ex case, a multi-billion euro tax fraud. Source: Bundestag - Commissione Cum-Ex
  • 18.6% of Italians are at risk of poverty. 9.1% of families are in energy poverty (14.6% on the Islands). 25.6% cannot cope with unexpected expenses. Source: ISTAT - Rapporto povertà
When a politician betrays electoral promises, it is not an individual accident: it is the inevitable product of a system designed to ensure that the elite in power continues to govern. Articles 67 and 68 provide legal protection. The theories of Mosca, Pareto and Michels explain the deep mechanism. It is not the individual politician who is the problem: it is the system.

Donation from the San Donato Group

In December 2025, the San Donato Group — through the GKSD Bespoke Services owned by Rotelli and Kamel Ghribi — donated 100,000 euros to Forza Italia, the party led by Tajani. The group is the largest private health operator in Italy. In the same months, Forza Italia presented a proposal for reform of health that strengthens cooperation between public and private health and eliminates the incompatibility for doctors of the national service to collaborate with the private structures agreed.

⚖️ confronto_titolo

confronto_intro

1. XQXQ

Personal Sovereignty says no one can decide about your life instead of you. Antonio Tajani was not elected President of the Council. He never asked the Italians to lead the government. Yet, as Vice President of the Council and Minister of Foreign Affairs, he decides on wars, alliances, arms supplies, sanctions. Decisions affecting the lives of millions of people. Without citizens ever being able to say a word. He promised minimum pensions at 1,000 euros. He didn't bring them. He promised IRPF cut to 33%. He didn't. He promised the housewives' pension. He didn't introduce it. Every betrayal promise is a decision made for you. In our system, you are the source of power. In his, power is an armchair that is conquered with party appointments, not with consent. Abyssal difference.

2. Equal Dignity

The same Dignity says: everyone is born equal, with the same material rights. Period. Tajani has been a professional journalist since 1980, co-founder of Forza Italia, MEP since 1994, European Commissioner, President of the European Parliament, Minister of Foreign Affairs. He spent his entire adult life in the system. He earned 187.673 euros in 2024. He has a pension from former EU Commissioner and former MEP. Cumula more assignments. While he built this career, 48.2% of busy women have an involuntary part-time. 43.7% of young people (15-34 years) are employed, against 50.2% EU. 13.8% of the South is unemployed. 9.1% of households are in energy poverty. Over 1 million young people left Italy. His "equal dignity" is a two-speed dignity: one for the journalist, the European Commissioner and the minister, one for those who do not arrive at the end of the month. In our system, no one is born with privileges. Everyone is born sovereigns.

3. Sovereign Consent

The Sovereign Consensus says: no one can be minority. If a decision doesn't suit everyone, we keep discussing. Tajani promised the minimum pensions to 1.000 euro. He didn't bring them. He promised IRPF cut to 33%. He didn't. He promised the housewives' pension. He didn't introduce it. He promised the gas price block. Partial. He supported sending weapons to Israel and Ukraine without consulting citizens. He received 100,000 euros from the San Donato Group while his party proposed a health reform that favours the private. He received 95.000 euros from the wife of Federico Vecchioni, president of BF. He received 100,000 euros from Unicusano. In our system, even one citizen who says "no" blocks everything. Because between rulers you do not win and you do not lose: you decide together. Tajani decided on his own. We want everyone to decide.

4. XQ

The Immune System serves to prevent a man from taking power. Immediate revocation, draw, incompatibility, short and non-renewable mandates. Automatic mechanisms, not good intentions. Tajani is the opposite. Here's what emerged: Donation from the San Donato Group — 100,000 euros in Forza Italia, while the party proposes a health reform that eliminates the incompatibility for SSN doctors to work in the private. The San Donato Group is the largest private health operator in Italy. Laurea honoris causa al San Raffaele — Tajani received an honorary degree from the University of San Raffaele, linked to the San Donato Group. Lobby financing — 100,000 euros from Acqua Lete (Sviluppo Uno srl), 100,000 euros from Ipi spa (Antonio D'Amato, former president Confindustria), 95.000 euros from Elisabetta Pasinato (moglie di Federico Vecchioni, BF), 100,000 euros from Unicusano. Michels, a hundred years ago, had foreseen all this: the ferreous law of oligarchy. Every organization inevitably produces an elite that dominates it. Forza Italia is no exception. Tajani is no exception. It is the living confirmation of the law. And the fact that the party receives 100,000 euros from those who manage private health while proposing reforms that favor it is proof that the system is designed to allow it.

5. Sovereign Coin

The Sovereign Coin says: money is a public service, not a commodity. The Community issue it without debt. Private banks do not exist. Tajani never talks about this. He doesn't say where the money comes from for his policies. He doesn't say who finances his ascent. He doesn't say if he wants to break down the power of the banks or leave it intact. His financiers, however, speak for him: San Donato Group: 100,000 euros Acqua Lete (Sviluppo Uno srl): 1000.000 euro Ipi spa (Antonio D'Amato): 1000.000 euro Elisabetta Pasinato (moglie di Federico Vecchioni, BF): 95.000 euro Unicusano: 100,000 euros Family Berlusconi: 7000.000 euro Inconvenient question: who pays his campaign? Who benefits from his policies? The answer is in the names: private health, mineral water, packaging, agri-food, telematic universities. In our system, the money is transparent and plotted. In its, it remains in the shadow — even when it is declared, because no one explains why.

6. Self-sufficiency

Self-sufficiency says: a sovereign people produces what consumes and consumes what they produce. Energy, food, technology, defense. Material addiction, not flags. Tajani says he wants a "superana" Italy and a "Made in Italy" protagonist in the world. But then: Supports the sending of weapons to Israel ("the import of weapons made Israel the second supplier after the US, increasing the amount to 150 million") Supports sending weapons to Ukraine Supports NATO Supports the EU He doesn't say "no" to any war This is not sovereignty. It is subordination disguised as atlantism. Italy does not produce what it consumes for defense. It depends on foreign supplies. He sends weapons to those who use them to make war. Vannacci says: "Let's change master." Meloni says: "We stay with the current master." Crosetto says: "We sell weapons to all masters." Salvini says: "Navy boy!" — but he never did. Schlein says: "Defensive weapons" — but does not say "no" to weapons. Magi says: Guns at Zelensky. Count says: "No to the rearmament" — but supported Draghi. Renzi says: "I do business with Bin Salman." Calenda says: "We go to Ukraine every year." Von der Leyen says: "European plane crash." Tajani says: "Israel the second supplier of weapons." None of them say: "We have no masters." We do.

7. Time of Life

The Time of Life says: the only criterion that counts is the quality of time you spend on this earth. Not GDP, not productivity, not war. Tajani promised the minimum pensions to 1.000 euro. He didn't bring them. He promised IRPF cut to 33%. He didn't. He promised the housewives' pension. He didn't introduce it. He promised the gas price block. Partial. In the meantime: 48.2% of women employed have an unwilling part-time The youth employment rate (15-34 years) is at 43.7% The gender pay gap is 5.4% (43% on pensions) The unemployment rate in the South is 13.8% Over 1 million young people left Italy between 2011 and 2021 This is his legacy: unmaintained promises, weapons sent to Israel and Ukraine, and a career built on the elite. The time of Italian life was stolen twice: first to pay taxes, then to pay the bill of promises never kept. In our system, free time is the supreme criterion. Every hour spent working to pay a bill or a missile is an hour of stolen life.

8. The politician as a school case

If Moscow, Pareto and Michels wanted an empirical case for their theories, they could not find it better than Tajani. Moscow said that in every society there is a political class that governs the disorganized majority. Tajani has been a member of this class for thirty years: co-founder of Forza Italia, MEP since 1994, European Commissioner, President of the European Parliament, Minister of Foreign Affairs. He spent his entire adult life in the system. He is not a man of the people. He is a power professional, son of a system he learned to use to conquer and maintain power. Pareto said that the story is a cemetery of aristocracies and that the elite circulate. Tajani is the perfect example: the Berlusconian political elite who, after Berlusconi's death, recycled into government elite with Meloni. His ascent is not a revolution. It's elite circulation. Power changes shape, but remains in the same hands. Michels said democracy inevitably produces oligarchy. Tajani is the confirmation: a man who received 100,000 euros from the San Donato Group while his party proposes a health reform that favours the private, which received 100,000 euros from Unicusano, who received 95.000 euros from the wife of Federico Vecchioni. His strength does not come from the people. It comes from its network of relationships and funding. It is the very definition of oligarchy: the government of few, for few, without the consent of the most. The fundamental difference: we want to disconnect the ferreous law of oligarchy. Tajani embodies her. And the fact that its party lives on loans from those who manage private health is proof that the system is designed to allow it.

9. The vote that brought you here

If you have voted for Forza Italia or for the centre-right, know that you have abdicated sovereignty. You gave your power to a party. And that party, once elected, is free to do the opposite of what he promised you. It is the Constitution itself that allows it. Article 67: "Every member of Parliament represents the Nation and exercises its functions without a mandate. "
→ Translated: electoral promises are ragged paper. He can betray you, legally. Article 68: Parliamentary immunity.
→ Translated: If you commit crimes, you need permission from your colleagues to process it. Together, they form the shield of Casta. The first one lets you betray. The second protects you while you do it. Tajani has betrayed minimum pensions to 1,000 euros. He cheated on IRPF cutting at 33%. She cheated on housewives. He betrayed the gas price block. Four promises cheated on four. And the Constitution protects him. In Community of Sovereigns, all this does not exist. No immunity. No warrant without constraint. Who's wrong pays. Those who betray laugh. And who presents himself with a program that will not keep is not even allowed to do so. Because there are no elections. There are no campaigns. There are no promises. Only decisions taken together, as a peer, without masters.

Conclusion

Tajani is not a political opponent like others. It is the anti-Community of Sovereigns in its most Berlusconian form. Every principle is the denial of our principle: He wants the hierarchy. We equality. He wants the majority crushing. We are unanimity. He wants the boss. We the mechanisms. He wants propaganda. We are the truth. He wants war. We live. He promised minimum pensions at 1,000 euros. He didn't bring them. He promised IRPF cut to 33%. He didn't. He promised the housewives' pension. He didn't introduce it. He promised the gas price block. Partial. And while doing all this, he received 100,000 euros from the San Donato Group, 100,000 euros from Unicusano, 95.000 euros from the wife of Federico Vecchioni. And he supported sending weapons to Israel and Ukraine. Community of Sovereigns is the only possible answer. Not because it's perfect, but because it's the only one that doesn't reproduce the twists of the past. Tajani is the past that returns. We are the future that has yet to be born. The choice is clear. And it doesn't admit neutrality.

Health is a business

If you want to add a free section in the CMS, here is a ready text: Health is a business In December 2025, the San Donato Group — the largest private health operator in Italy — donated 100,000 euros to Forza Italia, the party led by Antonio Tajani. The donation came through the GKSD Bespoke Services, owned by Rotelli and Kamel Ghribi. At the same time, Forza Italia presented a proposal for health reform: Strengthens cooperation between public and private health Eliminates the incompatibility for doctors of the National Health Service to collaborate with the private structures agreed The conflict of interests is evident: those who manage private health finance the party that proposes to promote private health. And the Foreign Minister, who is also the leader of that party, receives an honorary degree from the University of San Raffaele, a structure linked to the San Donato Group. It's not an isolated case. Forza Italia has received the maximum permitted contribution by law (100.000 euros) from three companies: Development Uno srl (Acqua Lete) Ipi spa (Antonio D'Amato, former President Confindustria) GKSD Bespoke Services (Gruppo San Donato) And another 95.000 euros from Elisabetta Pasinato, wife of Federico Vecchioni, executive president of BF (ex Bonifiche Ferraresi). The result: A party that lives on loans from those who manage private health, mineral water, packaging, agribusiness, telematic universities. It proposes reforms that favour those sectors. In Community of Sovereigns, this would not be possible. There are no private funding. There are no conflicts of interest. There are no reforms tailored to those who pay. Only sovereign citizens who decide together, as a peer, without masters. And no one can buy their voice.
